InHealth Technologies, marketer of Blom-Singer voice restoration and Ear, Nose & Throat products, has announced the release for sale of the Blom-Singer Voice Prosthesis Placement Surgical Kit for the U.S. market.
The Blom-Singer Voice Prosthesis Placement Surgical Kit, designed by Eric D. Blom, Ph.D., is a sterile kit which can be used during surgery for primary or secondary puncture and dilation of the tracheoesophageal wall, for selection of the proper length of voice prosthesis, and to guide the placement of the voice prosthesis, told to TechnoStuffs.
The Blom-Singer Voice Prosthesis Placement Surgical Kit is comprised of three single use surgical instruments; a 13 gauge curved trocar fitted with a 9 gauge sheath which allows for approximation of the party wall thickness as the puncture is completed, a pharynx protector fitted with a handle and notch to protect the posterior esophageal wall, and a dilating catheter which gradually dilates the tracheoesophageal puncture while delivering the voice prosthesis. A key aspect of this system is the delivery of the voice prosthesis in an anterograde fashion.
The Blom-Singer Voice Prosthesis Placement Surgical Kit is available in two sizes, 16 Fr. and 20 Fr., and is used to deliver Blom-Singer Classic Indwelling Voice Prostheses Sterile Series which are available in 16 Fr. and 20 Fr. diameters and lengths of 8, 10, 12, and 14 mm.
The Blom-Singer Voice Prosthesis Placement Surgical Kit is available now in the U.S.
