Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) or Acute Myelogenous Leukemia is the most common types of leukemia in adults. The Causes of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia) and Risk factors of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia) are not common. Acute Myeloid Leukemia is caused by the damage in the DNA of developing cells in the bone marrow. Acute Myeloid Leukemia is more common in men than women. This leukemia generates disorder in the production of blood cells.
Causes of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia)
DNA causes Acute Myeloid Leukemia is not apparent. But it may be the case that due to very high exposure to toxic chemicals, radiations or certain chemotherapy drugs may be the causes of Acute Myeloid Leukemia
As medical sciences is gaining remarkable technological improvements, researchers approaches on a milestone in identifying the changes in DNA which can cause the bone marrow cells to transform into the Leukemia. The growth of human cell depends on the cells chromosomes. Chromosomes are the long chain DNA molecules like structure. DNA is a chemical make ups which contains all the information for the growth of the cells, that how it grows and functions. We have habits, resemblance with out parents and grand parents because they are our DNA source, even there are genetic disease also transfers to us.
Mostly Acute myeloid leukemia occurs in the people of age 60 + and this type of cancer is rear in age 40 and under. This cancer is more common in men than woman. This cancer is a collection of abnormal cell inside bone marrow which disturbs the function of it and these cancer cells replaces the normal cell and start producing abnormal cell very rapidly. Therefore making patient body vulnerable for the infections due to low amount of normal bone marrow cells.
Causes of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia)
As mentioned earlier that the exact causes of Acute myeloid leukemia is still not addressed, but following may be the causes of Acute myeloid leukemia:
- Some Toxic Chemicals
- Chemotherapy drugs such as alkylating agents and etposide.
- High level of Radiations
Risk Factors of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia)
There may also be Risk factors of Acute myeloid leukemia which are as follows:
- Blood Disorders (Polucuthemia vera, Myelodysplasia and Essential thrombocythemia).
- Week Immune System due to transplantation.
- High Level of Toxic Chemicals and Radiation Exposure.
